Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA)
The Grove and East Hills are a part of the worldwide denomination called The Christian & Missionary Alliance. The Alliance is a unique missionary denomination—a maverick movement into whose soul the Head of the Church breathed “Go!” from the very start. The Alliance was founded by A.B. Simpson, a pastor and evangelist who had a passion for the unreached masses both in his own neighborhood in New York, and around the world.
For more than 120 years, the heart of The Alliance has been the Fourfold Gospel, which focuses on Jesus as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King. We hold a common desire to see every man, woman, and child experience a personal relationship with God in the fullness of Jesus Christ.
What motivates us is Jesus’ call to complete The Great Commission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 19–20 (NIV).
We believe the local church is God’s instrument to fulfill the Great Commission. The Alliance works to establish healthy communities of Christ both domestically and abroad, resulting in self-sustaining, self-governing, self-propagating evangelical churches within reach of every person on the planet.
